Certified True Colour Expert™

(Yes, this is the British English spelling of “color”.)

  • Through this training, I’ve been able to develop my ability to understand and clearly identify undertones of neutrals, and how to combine “clean” or “dirty” colors.
  • Most people get color wrong because they don’t know how to coordinate neutrals with neutrals, and neutrals with colors. This includes design professionals. This awesome training is not taught in design schools.
  • It’s important to be able to explain WHY a color works. I don’t expect someone to trust me blindly.
  • Currently, I carry Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, Farrow & Ball, and Behr full lines of paint chips.
  • Even if a client does not want to use these paint brands, they can take a small paint chip in that color and have it matched to the brand of paint of their choice. However, I do not recommend this as sometimes the undertone will change slightly.

Why is Interior Design a Hot Topic?

  • Increase Value– People want to increase the value of their homes and make it move-in ready for the next homeowner.  People want a good return on their investment, especially if they made any improvements. Generally, people don’t live in one home their entire lives because their needs and circumstances change over time; people keep the future of their home in mind.
  • Create the Ideal Environment– People have different style preferences and desire to make their home comfortable, beautiful, inviting, and efficient according to their own ideals.
  • Media Influence– There are many home magazines providing advice for interior design. In addition, there are a number of TV shows that show interior design projects and property decisions for homeowners, home buyers and home sellers. Therefore, people are becoming increasingly comfortable in designing their own spaces since they feel more educated by media.
  • Keeping up with Contemporary Conveniences and Trends– Technology is improving at an astonishing rate which includes home interior design options. People strive to keep up with what is new and trendy.
